George Kooymans of Golden Earring® has passed away

This morning, I received the sad news that George Kooymans of Golden Earring®, one of the oldest bands in the world, has passed away. 

He suffered from ALS. George was a wonderful client. We registered and managed several brands on his behalf, including Golden Earring®, Radar Love® and Vreemde Kostgangers®.

The band stopped performing in 2021 because of George's muscle disease.  

It was, of course, a strange sensation for him that he could no longer hold his plectrum. 

A farewell concert was planned for 2026. The music of Golden Earring® played an important role in my younger years. I enjoyed their music and it helped shape me. 

The song that immediately comes to mind is “Back Home”.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.
